What are Pura Vida Bracelets?

PuraVida Bracelets is a California-based company that sells handmade bracelets online and through boutiques like ours. In 2010, Griffin Thall and Paul Goodman founded the company after discovering the bracelets while on a college graduation trip to Costa Rica. On this journey, the two friends met local jewelry artisans Jorge and Joaquin who, at the time, were living in poverty- their entire family crammed into a single room with three beds. The simple, colorful bracelets resonated with the two college friends and their experiences in Costa Rica, so Griffin and Paul bought 400 of them for $100 and brought them home to California. Today, Pura Vida supports over 150 artisans with full-time jobs. 

What does Pura Vida represent?

“Pura Vida” means “pure life,” which is a Costa Rican philosophy to live life to the fullest and celebrate the simple pleasures. Since the company first started in 2010, it has expanded to offer a wide selection of unique items like wave rings, necklaces, and other accessories. The clean designs embody that philosophy and remind us to focus on what’s truly important in life. Every bracelet purchased helps provide full-time employment for local Costa Rican artisans, so you can support job development when you shop. 

In addition to supporting this great cause, Remedy Road also donates 100% of all proceeds to non-profits working with our artisans.
